The state of Georgia does not have a large amount of coastline, however it still has a considerable amount of lighthouses. Some of the best lighthouses you’ll see in the state though, are in the city of Savannah. There are two lighthouses that are going to stand out for you, and if you enjoy lighthouses, you are going to enjoy both of these, although one is a bit of a challenge to get to.
The first lighthouse is located right in the Savannah fort. There are several different civil war forts in Savannah, and one of the best kept for still has a functioning lighthouse. Although the house is more for show, it is possible for it to work. It is a thin, slender lighthouse, and it is open to the public. It allows people to climb a circular staircase all the way to the top. It is rather tall, so you need to be physically fit, as there are no resting points until you reach the top.

The second lighthouse option in Savannah is located right on the Atlantic Ocean. When there is low tide, it is possible to walk to the lighthouse, but you need to make it quick, because once the tide becomes high, you are stuck inside the lighthouse until the tide goes back down. Because of this situation, there are virtually no crowds. It is a smaller lighthouse, although it is incredibly interesting to go and check out.
