Decorating a room with a theme can be a little like walking a tightrope. You want you theme to be evident but you don’t want to slip so far into the theme that the room becomes a kitsch joke. Many people love lighthouses and have decorated at least one room in their homes, filling it with lighthouse décor.
There are a few tips one can follow that help when decorating with a theme. First be sure to add items to the room that are neutral to the theme. If our example is lighthouse décor, it is a good idea to have some items that are not only not lighthouses-related, but might not be nautical in any sense.
